Hippo Babies

I STILL haven't taken pics of my 2nd watercolour class project (where did last week go?), so I'm showing you 2 water-coloured baby cards this time instead. I don't actually have a baby themed stamp set, so I'm always looking for ways to make baby cards with the sets I do have. Both cards include the sooooo cute hippo from 'Pun Fun' & the very pretty 'Tea Party DSP. The weird but very good thing was that I coloured the hippos in 'baby colours', with no idea on what I'd put together with them & realised later that the 'Tea Party' paper worked perfectly with them. Phew! Anyway, first up is a girly pink hippo:The base is pink pirouette, teamed with regal rose & some spotty 'Tea Party' DSP. Little miss hippo was coloured on watercolour paper with pretty in pink, almost amethyst & celery Watercolor Wonder™ crayons & mounted on pink pirouette, amethyst & some celery ribbon. The Little Something' greeting is from....you guessed it, 'Best Yet' again, stamped on watercolour paper, washed with amethyst. Here's a close-up to show the layers better. Now one for a beautiful baby boy hippo:
He's coloured in almost amethyst, so saffron & celery. I've also added part of a baby greeting from 'Curvy Verses', which fitted perfectly around baby hippo. He's layered on barely banana & amethyst card & mounted on some more 'Tea Party' DSP. Some celery grosgrain & white taffeta ribbon finish it off. Here's a close up of this one too.I hope you liked this baby take on 'Pun Fun'. You'll be seeing a bit of déjà vu with mr/miss hippo later in my class project.... but I have another punny animal top show you next time...& until I manage to get that camera out.

Inky wishes
Di
