JAI 337 Just add two - copper Christmas sleigh

Yay, I finally got some play time this week, just in time for the new themed challenge at Just Add Ink to Just Choose Two...

I chose designer paper & die cuts as my two elements to make this Christmas card with lots of coppery shine. The sentiment & sleigh somehow kept reminding me of the classic Jingle Bells song so I tried to make a card using them together.

I've copper embossed the sentiment, used copper foil sheets for the sleigh overlay, little punched stars & framing, plus gorgeous navy & copper embossed paper (from the Paisleys & Petals specialty designer paper pack).

I love the intricacy of the sleigh dies. It's cut in 2 pieces - the base, which I've cut in kraft card & painted with clear wink of Stella to add some sparkle, then adhered the copper piece on top.
Tip - for me the Precision Base Plate is an essential to cut thes intricate sleigh dies.
I cut the largest circle in our brand new Stitched Shapes framelit die set to use with the sentiment from the beautifully scripty must-have Tin of Tags stamp set (& 25% off during November). It adds such a lovely detailed, finished look to the circle that means it doesn't need extra layers. A sprinkling of punched stars (confetti stars punch) adds a little extra pop of copper.

Both the sentiment & sleigh layers are popped up on dimensionals. A strip of vellum grounded the panels & helped provide some balance between the copper layers.

I carried over the theme to the inside very simply using the sleigh & star stamps from Santa's Sleigh stamp & more Tin of Tags.

So that's my take on our Just Choose Two challenge. Head over to the Just Add Ink blog to see how the team all used the challenge & try it yourself. Have fun!

Here's a final collage image for you to pin for later inspiration.

Back soon with more ideas for you to try. Hope your Christmas planning is going well.

Inky wishes, Di

Di you knocked this one out of the park!! The scene is so evocative of Santa's sleigh travelling across the night sky in front of the moon. I love the rich colours and all the wonderful blingy copper tones. xxx

Dashing through the snow.... now I have this in my head! Your card is fantastic - the navy and copper are a great colour combo, and the sentiment is perfect with the sleigh.
