Ridiculously amazing teen birthday

Taking a mini break from Christmas today to share a fun teen birthday card I made for an equally fun & sweet friend of Cara's. I somehow I forgot to post it before, but better late than never I say so here it is now!
It's a very tall & quite narrow card (21cm or about 8-1/4 inches from memory). I was playing with the fun images from Amazing Birthday & the banner just got longer & longer. I also snuck in the Happy Birthday images from Hey You (a hidden gem in the Annual Catalogue). I stamped the main design in multiple colours & cut different pieces out to make my own design. Some pieces are popped on dimensionals to help them stand out too. You can see them better here (click for a bigger pic if you want to see more).
Thanks for visiting today & I hope this gives you some ideas of how to combine images to make your own look. Until next time,
Inky wishes, Di

Bright & beautiful star shaped card

Today's share is a Christmas star shaped card made with the Bright & Beautiful stamp set & star framelits. I was going to share this card with my first star card, but realised just before I posted that some pearls had tried to run away. Now I realise if I photograph the card again you'll never see it, so please forgive my slightly wonky pearls. This card was based on this lovely by Sandi MacIver.

The star images were embossed in white, then sponged it with marina mist ink to add depth. I also sponged the marina mist card base, sentiment tag with marina mist ink too. The pearls add a little more (wayward) pretty. The sentiment is from Good Greetings, which is no longer available, but it would be easy to substitute if you didn't get this fab freebie last month.

Thanks for visiting & leave a comment if you have any more questions about the card. I'll be back soon with another project.
Inky wishes, Di

Bright & beautiful Christmas star card

Stars are one of my fave Christmas images so the beautiful Bright & Beautiful stamp set in the Holiday Catalogue was right at the top of my Christmas list. I also love the combination of blue, white & silver for Christmas, so I combined them into this card we made at my August Christmas class. It's also my fave Christmas card so far this year.
I stamped two of the largest stars with night of navy ink, cut one out with the matching star die, then cut the second one with the next smallest die. I sponged the star in marina mist ink to add some definition & scored/raised the star. You can see it better here.I added a silver sequin (from the Frosted Sequins pack) - don't seem to be able to make a card without these lately.
How to make the raised star
- Score the star from each outer point to the opposite point.
- Fold at each score - mountain folds on the outer points & valley folds on the inner points.
- Attach to larger star - I placed a half dimensional near the edge of each point & four dimensionals in the centre (sounds like a lot, but just keeps it raised).

That's all from me for now - hungry peeps await dinner. Hope you like my star card & thanks for visiting. Back next time with more.

Christmas catch up - Wondrous Wreath

It's time to start sharing some Christmassy projects, with a couple of cards from my first Christmas class in August, using the Wondrous Wreath set & matching framelits.
I couldn't decide which card to make at the class, so I decided to make both. If the second card looks familiar, it's because it's a copy of a sample in the Holiday Catalogue. I really loved the card & thought why mess with perfection. :-) This was also my first class with our new photopolymer stamps. It was so great being able to layer the 3 stamps that make the wreath without needing my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig. Having matching framelits to cut the die & the fab 'joy' made it even better.

Thanks for visiting & hope your liked the cards. Back next time with another card from the class.
