Santa's Sleigh and Santa too

With all this talk of Santa's Sleigh, have you been wondering where Santa is? Well he's here today.

This was another card I made made back in September for my Holiday Catalogue display that I hadn't shared here. For a change I used traditional Christmas colours (real red & garden green).

I combined elements from 3 of my most used bundles & stamps this year:
* Santa's Sleigh bundle - tree, sleigh & reindeer stamps & dies
* Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle Santa stamp punched with Cookie Cutter builder punch)
* Wonderful Year - sentiment (reminder - this is retiring so get it now).

Did you realise that the sleigh is cut in 2 pieces? The solid sleigh base & an intricate overlay. This lets you combine different elements like card & glimmer or foil. I used real red card for both pieces in this card as I wanted to add detail but not outshine Santa.

Speaking of Santa, he's stamped in black archival ink & coloured in with markers - fun! I used real red, basic gray & smoky slate markers for his clothes & a touch of retired blush blossom for his face. I also fussy cut a second Santa head to give him more depth. Click on the pic to see a bigger version.

On the inside I stamped two more sentiments from Wonderful Year & Santa made another appearance too. This card just makes me smile. I don't know that I'd mass produce it although it's an easy card, but it was lots of fun to make the scene.

While we're talking Santa, here's another much simpler & quicker Santa to mass produce...

Jolly Santa

This card was the third card we made at my Cookie Cutter Christmas card class (you can see the other cards we made here & here, or see all my Cookie Cutter Christmas cards here.
I cut the Jolly with the fun Christmas Greetings thinlit dies & teamed it with sentiments from the coordinating Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set, both from the Annual Catalogue & a pretty holly print from the Presents & Pinecones paper pack (retiring & discounted now)

Like Santa in the first card, he's coloured with markers & also has a extra fussy cut head layer. I'm not a big fussy cutting fan but this was very easy to do.

The inside is almost the same as the Santa's Sleigh version above, using Wonderful Year again - no pic though.

So there you go. Two more Santa ideas to try. Thanks for visiting today. I have more Christmas to share so pop by again tomorrow.

See all my Santa's Sleigh cards here & remember to pin my cards for later inspiration.

Inky wishes, Di

Santa's Sleigh Christmas - simply neutral

Today I'm sharing some cards I made way back in September for my Christmas launch display but didn't make it here yet, despite being some of my fave cards this year.
They were also the cards that started my crumb cake, soft suede & copper obsession (also seen on these Star of Light cards & these Cookie Cutter Christmas cards). Anyway, I digress...

Reindeer Trio

I'm sure you've gathered that I have a thing for reindeer & I love these ones from Santa's Sleigh. Super simple recipe - fave sentiment from Wonderful Year, 3 reindeer, & a touch of copper washi for more shine. Here are the reindeer up close & Christmassy. Oh how I love them! The copper foil & metallic copper washi gives such a lovely sheen not really showing in the pic.

The reindeer are soft suede ink on soft suede & crumb cake card & stazon black ink on copper foil as normal ink smears. It would have looked cool heat embossed in copper too, but the stazon kept it quick & easy.

One more reindeer & sentiment from Wonderful Year on the inside finishes it off. Done & love!

Christmas Tree Trio

This card was based on an idea shared in our Stampin' Success Demonstrator magazine. The embossed star front gives lots of texture & the stamped & die cut trees add details. The trees are all stamped with soft suede ink, on white, crumb cake & soft suede card. Have I sold you on this fab combination yet?

One more tree & coordinating sentiment on inside - all from Santa's Sleigh too.

Both these ideas can easily be mass produced with minimal supplies, so that's a win, especially since I still have tons of Christmas cards to finish.

Speaking of finishing, that's all from me for now. I have a couple more Santa's Sleigh projects to share so fingers crossed you'll see them very, very soon. In the meantime, see all my Santa's Sleigh projects here

In the meantime, pin these ideas for later if you're lucky enough to have finished your cards, or use them now to help you get started or finished. All the supplies I used are listed below & available to order from my store.

Inky wishes, Di
