JAI 284 - Just add a fancy fold - No cut patterned paper folder for Christmas

It's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge - Just add a fancy fold - & it's probably no surprise that I suggested this challenge. There are so many fab fancy fold cards out there to try but I've decided to share the fancy fold that started my obsession with folding back in 2008 - a patterned paper gift card folder. This is still a firm fave of mine & many of my class lovelies, so I hope it'll become a fave of yours too.
Yes & another poinsettia - another current obsession...& so sparkly!
The folder is so simple to make, with just a sheet of 12 x 12 inch double sided paper, & needs no cutting or adhesive. It looks like a regular card but opens up to show two pockets. I usually include two postcards - one to write a message & the other to hold a gift card, cash or photo.
Here's how it looks open:

& from the inside with cards. You can't see but I added some clear Wink of Stella to the poinsettias on the cards for a little extra sparkle.

You can see the folder shape better with the cards removed:
So, if you're new to these folders or my blog, where did I find them? Well, back in 2008 I found a fab tutorial for a small version on Andrea Hayes blog. At the time, I adapted them at the time to make a larger size, then adapted them again. This version has a finished front measuring 10 x 14.8cm (approx 4 x 5-3/4 inches), so almost a regular card front. Here's another pic showing the ribbon tied. I don't always include ribbon but I liked it for this one

I realised this version has different measurements again to my others & had planned to share them today with you but it's taken considerably longer than I thought so I'm totally out of time! I will share the measurements & instructions & tips, together with some other folder designs next post though, so you'll just need to be a little patient.

EDITED 21 Oct 2015:  I've posted my full tutorial for you to download plus 2 more folders in here in this post

EDIT Sept 2021: See & download my No Cut Patterned Paper Tutorial in this post

Thanks for visiting & please pin this collage pic to remind you where to come back to for the instructions:

You MUST also check out all the DT's fancy fold creations too as they're all fabulous & join the folding fun by adding your own fold.
Until next time, inky wishes, Di
