Farewell Lighthearted Leaves - gone so soon

Time flies when you're having fun & I have definitely had fun over Christmas & new year & the 3 weeks since my last post. I couldn't let our Holiday Catalogue end without sharing a couple of cards I made with one of my fave sets - Lighthearted Leaves, which is leaving us today. First up is this one I made back in October for a dear friend.
I was inspired by this stunner by Teneale & this fab sketch for Just Add Ink 283.

Here's a closer look
I clear embossed the leaf image on watercolour paper & coloured with ink & an aquapainter, then cut it out with the coordinating Leaflets framelits. Then mounted it on vanilla & lost lagoon banners & striped mint macaron envelope paper.
I'd been having lots of fun experimenting with the fab wooden Expressions Natural Elements in the Annual Catalogue & for this card I smooshed it into mint macaron ink & then heated clear embossing powder (twice) to give it a glossy finish. Click on this pic to see this better. The wooden element changed the colour a bit but not as much as it looks in the pic).
A few sequins (from the retired in-colour sequin pack), then a matching inside - custom sentiment stamped in one go courtesy of Endless Birthday Wishes.

Then, inspired by this beauty by Allison Okamitsu, I made this one, that's all about the leaf & Woodlands embossing folder... & naked Expressions Natural Element.
Up close & personal. Again, the image was heat embossed & watercoloured.
Woodlands embossing folder update - you may know the Woodlands embossing folder completely sold out in record time & SU said it was not carrying over (sob-what?). The great news is that SU have decided to bring it back in our next Annual Catalogue, due in June - so just in time for lots of Aus winter cards.

Hope you liked my brief but sweet peek at Lighthearted Leaves. These cards have focused on the gorgeous maple shaped leaves in the set, but look at all the other beauties included in the photopolymer stamp set (wish I'd used that top right one for m Christmas cards).  You'll find tons more fab ideas for the set here on Pinterest.
So, you've another 5ish hours to order Lighthearted Leave, so don't miss out.
Remember to also check out the matching Leaflets framelits, & bundle where the dies are teamed with its natural leaf cousin - Vintage Leaves / Leaflets bundle from the annual catalogue.

Inky wishes, Di
