JAI 319 inspiration challenge - botanical wreath

It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink & this week we're being inspired by this gorgeous wreath image.

My immediate thought was to make something Christmassy - who wouldn't want that wreath on their door - but I kept coming back to the colours, which reminded me of the Affectionately Yours DSP pack. So I went with that & made this very bold, tropical wreath card.

I cut out a circle frame from the dsp, removed the centre & popped it up with our new foam adhesive strips, then adhered the flowers & the ferny leaf from the Botanical Builder dies to make the wreath. I think I'd add more leaves to one side of the wreath (it's weird how I don't notice things until it's in a photo).  I was conscious of not making it any busier so I kept the sentiment banner very simple with a fave birthday sentiment from Birthday Blossoms.
Truth be told this one didn't turn out quite how I'd imagined but I do like the layout & wreath.

Thanks for visiting today. Now, head over to the Just Add Ink blog to see how the team were inspired by the challenge image & try it yourself.

Inky wishes, Di
