Big birthday no-cut patterned paper folder

Early this year (ok, March) I ran a fun class based on those big events that generally include a number of some sort, like special birthdays, anniversaries etc.  Anyway I was looking for the project post & realised that I hadn't shared them - oops!

So, with no further delay, here's the first project we made - another of my fave no-cut patterned paper folders.

I decorated this one with a die cuts from the Lots of Labels die set & Number of Years stamps & Large Numbers dies (20% off until November 28th), which I heat embossed in silver.

Haven't seen my folders before? It's made simply by folding a 12x12 inch sheet of double sided patterned paper origami style - no cutting or gluing. I've been making these a long time & they're still a fave of mine & my class lovelies.

For this class version everyone chose their own paper sheet from the It's My Party paper pack (now retired), which resulted in lots of individual & fabulous folders. I've shared these at the bottom of this post.
Great news! - It's My Party is currently on the SU Clearance Rack for the small sum of $18.10 for 48 fab sheets of 12x12 inch paper, only while stocks last of course.

Anyway, back to the folder; the cards can be slipped out or adhered to the inside. I slipped them into this card. The left panel includes a pocket to slip in a gift card, ticket or other item. I normally write a message on the right side panel.

This is how it looks flat from the front.

Here's one more combined pic for you to pin for later iinspiration. Make sure you  check out the no-cut patterned paper tutorial pdf download in this post too.

Folders made by my class lovelies
Everyone picked their own papers to suit the person & occasion they wanted & they did a great job.

Last Confession - Tip
I cut up my 'It's time to celebrate with cake' stamp in the Party With Cake stamp set as I thought I'd use it much more that way. And I have! Since it's a clear mount stamp, I can just mount it together to use it together when I want to as well. Win-win!
This is where I cut it.

Back soon with another project. Thanks for visting today. Remember to pin my pics for later & don't miss getting up to 40% off during the Online Extravaganza sale - on until November 28th.

Bloomin' Heart soft sympathy card

Today I'm sharing a similar card to yesterday's Bloomin' Heart card. Sadly I made this to send my condolences to a lovely friend who lost her dear Mum.

I chose a soft combination of mint macaron & white with a touch of smoky slate, embossing the white piece with the Softly Falling embossing folder.

I layered two Bloomin' Hearts die cuts, slightly offset to show part of the mint macaron underneath, then added some individual min & white flowers with pearl centres.

'
It doesn't show well in the photo but I heat embossed a vellum strip with the sentiment stamped in versamark, mint macaron ink & clear embossing powder. This was from the sadly now unavailable Thoughtful Branches bundle.

Inside I stamped some images from the coordinating Bloomin' Love stamp set, but no pics sadly.

I hope you like how I've used Bloomin' Hearts here & in my other cards. I don't normally use a lot of hearts but I find this one so flexible for so many types of cards. Anyway, here's a final combined pic you can pin for later. Thanks for visiting & I'll be back again soon.

Inky wishes, Di

Bloomin' Heart birthday - 100 years young

Earlier this month was a first for me, celebrating the 100th birthday of a lovely resident at Mum's nursing care facility. Of course I wanted to make her a card & one worthy of such a wonderful milestone. I hope she liked it as much as I enjoyed making it for her.

Thank goodness for the beautiful & coordinated Number of Years stamps & Large Numbers dies.
I really think everyone needs a great number set & this is my fave collection ever thanks to the size, font & coordination between the stamps & dies & I've used them so much.

Anyhow, back to the card, I stamped the numbers in versamark & blushing bride ink then clear embossed them for a lovely shine. You might be able to see it in this pic.

After using the gorgeous, detailed Bloomin' Heart dies on my fave 50th wedding anniversary card I knew they'd be a perfect pairing here too. I offset a white & blushing bride heart so some of the blushing bride peeked through, then added some blushing bride flowers from the same die set (lightly curved for dimension) with pearl centres & really love the effect.

I love blushing bride & mint macaron together so I used mint for the base & a pretty mint & white print paper from the Blooms & Bliss designer series pack.

I had to sneak a banner & some vellum on there too, to ground the 100 on the card. Have you noticed how often I use banners & vellum? Love!

I carried the theme to the inside with more paper, flowers & a stamped sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms set.
