JAI 372 colour challenge - Deck the halls

Hello & welcome. I'm so happy to say I have a new card to share with you, for the new Just Add Ink challenge. I haven't been able to play along with the team for a while due to some family & life stuff, but I'm gradually trying to get back to creating. I couldn't resist trying this beautiful colour of tranquil tide, pool party & powder pink, that Nikki came up with.

So lovely! I thought the colours would make a modern, pretty Christmas card combination, so I made this with our brand new Carols of Christmas stamp & die bundle.

I snuck in some silver embossing to make that fabulous sentiment from Carols of Christmas really shine. Love the pretty pattern on the pool party paper from the Petal Garden dsp stack too.

Are you wondering how I made the cut vellum border?  The Card Front Builder die set includes a really clever die that creates a border around your card base in two steps. I made a smaller border by overlapping the two cuts. I love the easy detail it adds.

You can't deck the halls without some holly so I took some artistic license & coloured my holly with powder pink & tranquil tide markers (17-19 in-color pack), then clear Wink of Stella. PS: no fussy cutting - there's a coordinating die in the set!

On the inside, I chose a sentiment from Holly Berry Happiness, as I liked the sentiment & the font teams well with the deck the halls font & added more holly.

So that's my take on this week's colours. I hope it's given you some ideas. Want even more? You must check out all the team's creations with it on the Just Add Ink blog.

I'll be sharing more cards I've made with Carols of Christmas over the coming week so pop back again soon for more ideas for this brilliant bundle. Thanks for visiting today.

Inky wishes, Di

Get Christmassy early with Carols of Christmas

The Carols of Christmas stamp set and coordinating Card Front Builder thinlit die set are an early release sneak peek of new Christmassy goodies in our 2017 Christmas-Holiday Catalogue, which begins next month. The images & dies give so many options  to make a bunch of different looks & techniques for your cards, tags & more. Many of the dies will do double duty all year round too, so they're even more useful.

You can order the stamps & dies as a bundle (and get a 10% discount), or get the stamps and dies separately. Trust me, you're going to need both (& the discount) as they give so many possibilities together and separately.

Follow the links in the supply list below to see more about them & order. Leave a comment or contact me if you have any questions.
