Remember the poinsettia card I shared last week? It evolved from another card featuring the poinsettia line images in the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle. So today I'm sharing that original card and a third card that's a combination of both cards. Following so far? Just check out the cards & you'll get the idea.
The garland image in the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp & die bundle is lovely to colour. I've used Stampin' Blends markers in real red, mango melody and shaded spruce - all new in the Holiday Catalogue. I covered the mistletoe & poinsettia with clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle.
On the base, I combined some timber print paper from the Festive Farmhouse pack and striped spotty washi (Suite Season cut in half). On the inside, there's the pop up surprise and another poinsettia.
It's amazing how changing up colours & prints can give a different look, so here's another version of this original card with the coloured poinsettia & dotty paper from the All if Bright pack.
Inside, there's another poinsettia. Tip: if you don't want to see the wrong side of the coloured
poinsettia in the front window, adhere another plain die cut behind it
before adhering.
Here's a closer look at the insert.
Pop up window template
As I mentioned in my last post, I was inspired to try making these pop up window cards after seeing this post (including a video) by the fab Jennifer McGuire. Jennifer explains how to make the mechanism beautifully. I applied the same principles to make my cards. The mechanism is essentially a scored rectangle the supports the window & pop up elements. You can see it best in this pic.
I've created a template to show the measurements and scores on this card specifically.
If you'd like a more specific tutorial for the card, leave me a comment and I'll add a tutorial to my to do list.
Before you go, here are some final pics of the cards together. Thanks for visiting today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing them and they give you some new ideas to try. Check out the supply list below for anything you need.
Happy stamping & inky wishes,
Di
