Looking for inspiration? Me too! This week's Just Add Ink inspiration image challenge is an idyllic beach scene and quite frankly where I'd much rather be this week.
Anyhow, I used the soft colours and textures in the scene to make this sweet koala baby congratulations card using the Bonanza Buddies stamp set and bundle.
This little koala has captured my heart, especially with the bushfire devastation and resulting loss of so many koalas and much more wildlife happening in Australia. Heartbreaking.
Miss Koala is stamped in smoky slate ink with basic gray for her face. I find stamping the face first, then the body makes it easier to align the images.
I coloured her tummy & ears with a good dash of light petal pink Stampin Blends marker, and added an epoxy heart coloured with light flirty flamingo marker.
Tip: Colour white card with a Stampin Blends marker if you don't have the card colour you need for your project. The congrats banner here is coloured with a Pink Pirouette Stampin Blends marker (sadly retired). You could get a similar result with lots of light petal pink Blends layers.
She's layered on scalloped die cut hearts using the Stitched Be Mine die set - a lovely set with all sorts of stitched, scallop & plain hearts.
Speaking of scallops, the gingham rectangle is cut with one of the nested stitched rectangles in the Stitched So Sweetly die set (& discounted So Sentimental bundle). Sooo pretty. I also added a petal pink stitched tag from the Bonanza Buddies bundle.
The gingham paper is my fave of the year - I used the blushing bride print here. I'm so glad it's available in all our colours (as 6 x6 inch Collection stacks) as I seem to use it on all sorts of cards.
As a nod to the lovely little beach houses in the image, I embossed the soft sea foam card with the Pinewood Planks 3d embossing folder, and inside used it on petal pink card.
There's also another cute koala & scallop rectangle & tag inside. I haven't added a sentiment for now as I couldn't find one to suit the recipient - a friend who's a very proud auntie of the new little one.
So that's my take on the challenge. Head over to the Just Add Ink blog to see lots more cards inspired by it, then try it yourself. We love seeing what you come up with.
I have more koala cuteness to share so keep an eye out. If you'd like to make some of your own, follow the links below to order Bonanza Buddies & anything else you need.
Happy stamping & inky wishes,
Di
