JAI 511 inspiration challenge - happy news

Today I get to share two things with you - First, my Design Team project for this week's Just Add Ink inspiration challenge, and two, a favourite plant.

First the challenge - Rachael asked us to create a project inspired by this pic featuring a fab pair of Sansevieria  plants. I'd love to have these at my place as they're one my fave indoor plants  - they're so sculptural and even better almost impossible to kill.  Now what to do for the challenge? The Boho Indigo Medley and Forever Greenery paper from the new Annual Catalogue came to the rescue and I made this.

The tall and stripy sansevierias in pots inspired me start with a striped paper print from the Forever Greenery paper pack (which I embossed with the Subtle embossing folder) as a background and create a potted arrangement of leaves.

I stamped a pot from the Boho Indigo Medley stamp set in new colour Misty Moonlight (love it!) and filled it with gold embossed leaves from the die cut element pack also in the Medley. I layered Misty Moonlight card behind the paper too.

The sentiment is also from Boho Indigo (love the font!) and it's stamped on Crumb Cake card in Misty Moonlight ink. I resized a Stitched Rectangle dies to cut it out.

Some little extra elements finish off the card - some Linen Thread, pretty flower element from the Medley and some white Crinkle ribbon coloured with a light Just Jade Stampin Blends marker.

Inside is super simple - some more paper and leafy element. And we're done!

So that's my take on the inspiration photo. What do you think?

Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our team projects. I hope they inspire you to try the challenge too or make your own version of our projects. You can purchase everything you need to make mine at the end of this post.

I almost forgot to show you some of my own sansevierias too. I love the bold yellow edge on these ones. These were a gift from a friend and started as 2 stems in an old metal teapot. After coming to live on my kitchen windowledge they grew like crazy so I had to transplant them.
Since then some more babies have sprouted in the pot and I've added another pot with some other varieties... but no pic to share :(  I'd love some long ones like those in the inspiration pic to add to my collection too.

Anyway I must go for now. Life is busy busy as we're planning a house move and renovation.
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed my project. Remember to pin it for later inspiration.

Happy stamping & inky wishes,
Di
