Hello, hello & welcome. Today I'm sharing a card I made for my darling man's birthday using the Hats Off stamp set and bundle.
Hats Off is one of those sets that is useful for so many people, ages, and occasions.
I know many of you find guy cards trickier than most, so I hope this gives you some ideas to try. I was actually inspired by this brilliant Hats Off card made by my friend, Chloe Evans.
Let's take a look at the full card.
Hats Off
Hats Off includes so many options to customise your hats design, add stitching with the dies, and there are multi-occasion sentiments to choose from. Oh & there's the cutest little hat that you'll see inside my card.
I've used a combination of Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, white and metallic silver. I stamped the hat in Misty Moonlight ink on Misty Moonlight card, then used a blending brush with more Misty Moonlight ink to add some shadows around the edges on the #1 piece, and highlight the fab stitched effect.
In the details
- Dry embossing - The Balmy Blue base is embossed with the Timber embossing folder. This adds a lovely texture and is a great supporting element for so many cards. It's from the current Mini Catalogue. Happily, this will remain available after the catalogue ends in January.
- Stripes - This was very much inspired by Chloe's card. I've used some Night of Navy card, striped patterned paper in Misty Moonlight from the retired SAB Penguin Playmates pack, and Brushed metallic silver foil card (hard to see the lovely shine in the pic).
- Sentiments - I'm sure you recognise my favourite Biggest Wish 'happy birthday'. The 'many hats' sentiment is from the Hats off bundle.
- Stitched Tag - Another favourite - the largest die in the Tailor Made Tags dies anchors the hat & sentiment. It wasn't quite long enough for the space so I cut it where it would be hidden behind the hat or Happy strip.
- Inside - I carried the stripes over, then created a custom sentiment. The 'Love you' is
from the Create with Friends stamp set & 'You're the Best' is from Hats Off. And how cute is the stitched mini hat!
So what do you think about Hats Off? Love it? Then order the supplies you need to make your own series of hats. Thanks for visiting today and hope to see you here again soon.
Happy stamping & inky wishes
