Hello & welcome to another project share - my Just Add Ink design team project for this week's colour challenge suggested by Nikki. The challenge colours are Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride & Rich Razzleberry.
What to do what to do? For some reason stripes then a rainbow popped into my mind, even though the colours are defintely not your typical rainbow. So I grabbed the Rainbow of Happiness stamp & die bundle and some other supporting goodies. This is what I made.
The rainbow - First I played around with the large, partial rainbow dies to see if the colours worked as a rainbow - I think they do - then started building the card around it. Note: the full rainbow die has four sections - I only used three to
stick to the colour challenge limits. I think it still works well with
three.
Clouds - The Basic Borders die has a lovely stitched cloud-like border, so I used this together with the retired Subtle embossing folder (still a fave though - I know many of you love it too). It helps ground the rainbow on the card.
Background - Did you spot the text background? I repeat stamped the 'sending you a
rainbow of happiness' image free hand down a piece of white card using
Mint Macaron ink pad. It's not perfect but reminds me of a hand written letter I embossed this with the Subtle folder too
Tip: Don't remember a long sentiment in Rainbow of Happiness? see the
stamp set image below. It's actually a rainbow (U) shaped image but
since the stamp is photopolymer & sticky I was able to gently mount
it straight onto a clear block. Once removed, the goes back to its usual
shape.
One more note about the rainbow. I attached the rainbow and the pieces between them to another piece of card so it was easier to pop them up and so the text wouldn't show through the rainbow. Then I added another layer of the colours on top to help them pop more off the white. Small things can make a difference visually.
Sentiment - punched for fun with the Cloud punch - is from the gorgeous new Happiness Abounds stamp set and bundle. I love the combination of script and block letters and there are so many more and useful sentiments included, and did I mention gorgeous floral line images. You are going to see lots of this. It's stamped in Rich Razzleberry.
Final touches - Some Iridescent rhinestones and Glittered white organdy ribbon add a little sparkle.
The final card is a little longer
& wider than a regular card - I seem to be in a custom card phase. You could easily make it regular size
by not adding the border around.
No pics of inside but you can be sure there's a rainbow and coordinating sentiment from Happiness Abounds.
So another challenge done and sparkled. Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our Design Team projects using the colours. You're sure to find lots of inspiration.
Thanks for visiting today. Create your own rainbow card using this or another fave combination. You'll find and can order all the supplies here from my Stampin' Up! store. Be sure especially to order Rainbow of Happiness bundle straight away as it's only available while supplies last until 30 June.
