Mystery Card Challenge 2 - seven clean and simple cards

Hello and welcome! Today I'm taking a step back in time to catch up with my last mystery card challenge. Things like crafting got a bit away from me - life and changes you know.

I did make seven, yes seven cards using the challenge cards. Most of the stamps and papers I used are now retired, but it's worth sharing the cards to show you some of the possibilities of the challenge elements.

First up a little reminder of what the challenge elements are -  essentially 3 long strips and 2 squares. Here are the dimensions & the initial challenge post is here.

Seven Mystery Challenge Cards

First up is set using my surprise favourite patterned paper pack of 22-23, Butterfly Kisses, teamed with the Amazing Year stamp set.

I started by simply cut a ton of strips from various papers in the pack using the challenge measurements, then mixed and matched. The butterflies are fussy cut from the patterned paper too - there are so many pretty ones in there. The birthday sentiment is from Amazing Year. Such a useful set.

Then I made a couple of cards using the bouquet image and more sentiments from Amazing Year. The Butterfly Kisses paper worked well here too.

Finally, here's one using the some black and white paper from the Perfectly Penciled paper, and a die cut using the retired Amazing Thanks die set.

I cut a strip the total width of the 3 strip measurements, coloured it in with Stampin' Blends, then cut it into the mystery challenge strip dimensions. I coloured the die cut sentiment with Stampin' Blends too, creating a graduated colour look. I placed the square panels behind the strip for a different look. I did cheat a little with the small strip behind the thanks. :)

So, what do you think? Try the challenge yourself and see what you can come up with. Or just use it as inspiration using leftover strips and bits. While most of the supplies I used are now retired, you can pretty much mix and match any supplies. I'd love to see what you create. Tag me or leave a comment with a link.

Until next time,

Happy stamping and colouring!
