Hello and welcome to a new team project share for this week's Just Add Ink challenge, which is to just add wildlife to a project. This is also my first project using new Mini Catalogue goodies, and it's my first Christmas card for 2023. Yay!
I LOVE polar bears so I couldn't resist the super cute hand drawn images in the Beary Christmas paper pack, which of course conveniently fit the wildlife challenge theme. Here's how my card turned out.

Aren't those polar bears so cute and the Beary Christmas paper really is the star here. The main images were fussy cut from one sheet, and the background is from another sheet. (top left and bottom left). The striped paper is from the Countryside Inn pack from the 23-24 Annual Catalogue - it coordinates so well though.
Let's talk about that fun and easy fancy fold too though - a faux centre step card. This fold was shared by Simone Bartrum at the Creative Connections event in Ballarat that I went to in July and I thought it was such a great idea.
I've loved and made many centre step card and tutorials over the years, but this is such an easy way to achieve a very similar result with a few scores and a separate piece to create the taller layer... and no fancy cutting.

The only stamping is the sentiments on the front and back. These are from last year's Christmas Scottie stamp set which retired but it's currently on the Online store Clearance Rack for 30% off its original price.
No polar bear goes to waste either, as the partial bear on the card back was at the edge of the paper.

Here's how the card looks flat. We're making this fold at my next class so I'll share more specifics about it later.
And here's how it looks from the side.
So there you go. That's my take on Just Add Wildlife! What do you think? The team have lots more wildlife ideas to share with you on the Just Add Ink blog so do check them out, then make your own too.
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed seeing my card and that it's given you some ideas to try.
Do come back soon for more ideas.
Until next time, happy stamping.

ReplyDeleteLovely card! I have tried figuring out how to recreate this card using other tutorials. Unfortunately, I have already ruined a pack of the Polar Bear DSP and ordered 2 more packs. By any chance, would you be willing to share the instructions for this card? I would greatly appreciate your help!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I have tried recreating this without success. By any chance, would you be willing to share directions with measurements please? Thank you in advance!
