Hello and welcome! Today's project is for an amazing milestone birthday celebrated by a friend of a friend this week and this week's Just Add Ink Fancy Fold challenge. And you all know I love a fun fancy fold.
The card request was to include two of the recipient's favourite things - reading and animals. I included the Scottie dogs from the Christmas Scottie stamp set (sadly retired), the stack of books image from the Bird's Eye View stamp set, and a pretty blue floral print from the Countryside Inn paper pack (which also has some animals on it). I also made a bookmark which you'll see below.
Here's how the card turned out.

You might remember that I used the base colours and papers on this card using Dainty Delight. I really liked the combination of florals and stripes, and thought it would work well with the cute pups.

The Scotties really make me smile, especially the little guy sitting up looking at you. Of course he had to be sitting on the books to fit the theme. The white Scottie peeking out from the 100 was heat embossed with clear powder on white, with some Smoky Slate ink blended around the edge.
I coloured the book stack image (from Bird's Eye View) with memento Black ink and Stampin' Blends markers - light and dark Boho Blue and Balmy Blue. To get a wider blue range I added multiple layers of marker. The five stack of books is two stacks fussy cut and glued together.
The white background behind the black Scottie is embossed with one of the Basics 3d embossing folders found in the Online Exclusives section of my Online Store.

The 100 is die cut from my favourite number dies (retired Large Numbers) in silver glimmer paper.
Oh a little tip for the bow (and any other images you want to cut out in glimmer or foil without a border. I stamped the bow image from Christmas Scotties on the back of the glimmer paper and fussy cut it out. It can be punched out with the Scottie punch but was a bit too thick to use here.
The base is a regular card base with a few score lines. The tall panel is separate, adhered to the bottom of the card front (over the striped paper), and at the back. I only adhered at the bottom of the back so I could slip the bookmark behind the panel.
Finally, here's the simple bookmark. I didn't want to add much to the pretty paper. I die cut the name using the Alphabet a la Mode die set. The reverse side has another pretty owl print from the pack.

The back has more pretty
Countryside Inn paper and a sentiment from Layering Leaves - a fantastic
set for all occasions sentiments. It also had a bookmark inserted
behind the sentiment panel, which I forgot to photograph in place, silly
me - but you can see it below.
Here's a better look at the side so you can see the folds in action. if you look carefully you can see the bookmark peeking out at the back.
