Hello and welcome to a new project share. This card is my team project for Just Add Ink sketch challenge 707, which is a very easy one with lots of possibilities. It came together pretty quickly once I decided to use sweet little sea turtles from the Sea Turtle stamp set. This is how it turned out.
I immediately thought about doing a starburst card then realised I had some beautiful watercolour look paper from the Full of Life paper pack that was a ready made star burst. The pack has 3 variations of this design but this one was perfect to create some stylised sea and sky for the turtles to swim in.
The large circle was cut at the same time with two dies - a large circle from the Spotlight on Nature set and bundle, and the dotty die from the retired Labels Aglow die set. I backed this with a circle of Summer Splash cardstock.
The smaller circle is from the Stylish Shapes die set. It's stamped with a favourite sentiment from Beach Day stamp set, and popped on top of the larger circle using Dimensionals.
The sweet little stars are the little turtles from the Sea Turtle stamp set stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green inks. They're a reversible stamp which means you can stamp the detail with one side of the stamp, and a solid image with the reverse. Stampin' Up! call these Reversibles® and there are quite a few options available.
Did you notice the circle gems I've added. They're called 24-26 In Color Shimmer Gems, and include gems in all 5 In Colors. I've used 3 colours here. I liked the repetition of the circles from the dies and the gems, plus they're so pretty and sparkly.
I should also mention that I used my retired Subtle embossing folder on the paper. If you're looking for a current option to add some texture, try the Dotted Circles 3d embossing folder for a bold embossed circles. Inside, there's another turtle, more of the paper, and another sentiment from Beach Day. I stamped the words separately so I could place birthday underneath happy, rather than beside it which is how it usually stamps.
