Hello and welcome to a new blog post and a new look here at Colour Me Happy. You're still in the right place, just with more pretty butterflies!

My newest project share is for this week's Just Add Ink challenge which is an inspiration challenge featuring a Christmassy image. Perfect for Christmas in July creating.

The Merry Christmas sentiment on the red mug  reminded me of the one in the Merriest Trees stamp set, so that, the coordinating Merriest Trees dies, and the colours in the image gave me my starting point. Here's how my card turned out.

Details
  • The snowflakes on the mug reminded me of the Snowflake Sky 3d embossing folder so I used that as my background. I blended a little Soft Sea Foam ink on it using a blending brush to create some shading behind the tree area.
  • I've used three of the Merriest Trees dies - two sizes on the front, and a smaller one inside.
  •  The striped and dotty paper prints are from the Shining Christmas pack, which you'll find in the Online Exclusives section of the store. One side of each design in the pack is shiny (the striped paper) and the other is matt (the red and white dotty print).
  • The other large tree is Garden Green cardstock.
  • There are lots of gold elements in the challenge image, so I used gold foil paper for the Christmas star, and tree trimming, and copper foil for the tree base. My final gold element is the gold cord wrapped around the front panel, representing the fairy lights in the image.

Inside, there's another Garden Green tree embossed with the Snowflake Sky folder trimmed with more strings, and another sentiment
