Hello & welcome to this week's Just Add Ink Challenges Design Team share. This week is a sketch challenge. I thought a bit outside of the sketch rectangles for my design using new frame and floral dies from the Impressions Abloom stamp and die bundle - available soon in the May Online Exclusives release - teamed with sentiments from the Birthday Celebration stamp set. Here's how it turned out.
I started with the basic sketch shapes and some paper then played around with the floral placement. The Impressions Abloom set has lots of floral options as well as the large oval(?) dies.
Is it an oval though? After checking the interwebs, it can be called an oval, but because it has two straight sides it apparently called a capsule or a stadium. Who knew? And so the Geometry lesson ends there.
Details
Paper: The background looks like a perfect gradient, and has no blending thanks to the Full of Life paper. Great when you're short of time. I cut out the oval dies from the piece so I could pop it on the front with the vertical rectangle element of the sketch behind.
The vertical stripe of paper is actually two pieces from the colour collections packs - Balmy Blue from Subtles, and Summer Splash from the 24-26 In Colors on front, and Pool Party inside (Subtles). All these papers are on the Last Chance list. Such a shame as I really like the patterns as they play so well most designs and are available in all Stampin' Up! colours.
Florals: All the pieces on the front and inside are from Impressions Abloom dies. I colours the flower petals using my Pretty in Pink Stampin' Blends markers.
Sentiments: All from the Birthday Celebration stamp set (also the discounted stamp-die bundle), including
Accessories: I coloured some retired pearls with my dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends marker, and also added some Brushed Brass Butterflies.
