JAI 258 colour challenge - teen tri-fold birthday

It's new challenge time at Just Add Ink & this week we have a fun colour challenge set by Rochelle using this bold combination of blackberry bliss, smoky slate & melon mambo.

I thought this combo would suit a sweet friend of Cara's whose 16th birthday is today (I don't think she sees my blog, but shhhh as she won't get the card until tonight!). I took my lead from the blackberry & melon, using slate as a supporting player & made this very bold angled tri-fold card featuring Celebrate Today's brilliant balloons.

I was very much inspired by this lovely card by the fab Julie Kettlewell. Julie kindly shared her measurements & instructions in the same post too - thanks heaps Julie! Such an easy card but the angles really add drama & interest. Here's another view from the top so you can see the z-fold.

I added a gift card/cash pocket to the bottom of the back sentiment panel, carrying over the dsp & stamp images from the card front.

Here's a closer look at each of the panels - this one shows the front & 3rd panel. The middle panel doesn't need to be decorated (click on the pic for bigger images)

The reverse side includes the decorated middle & back panels. The dsp is one sheet of melon mambo - the chevrons are on one side & the small print is on the reverse.
