JAI 270 inspiration challenge - Christmas in July

Most Aussies know we have a great tradition of celebrating Christmas in July so the new JAI challenge is perfectly timed. The challenge is to use these pics as inspiration for your project.
I must admit it was definitely a challenge for me this week. Thinking about Christmas already was apparently a bit of a shock & I haven't done many pic challenges so I couldn't decide which or how many elements to use.  After much (over)thinking, this is what I came up with: a simple & graphic take on the pics, mainly using the tree & colours with a twist of bling.
Click on the pic to see the bling & patterns in more detail).
Tips & tricks
1. Punched & die cut paper layer using tree punch & Wondrous Wreath framelits  - I attached acetate to the paper back to add some support, then attached it to the glimmer paper with dimensionals to create some height & shadow. The acetate made it easy to add the red glimmer baubles too.
2. Bling - I sponged dazzling diamonds glimmer paper with old olive ink & punched some red glimmer baubles for the tree & to scatter on the paper.
Here's one more pic so you can maybe see the raised layer better. The glimmer looks less green in this one but it's much more like the first pic irl.
You'll love seeing what all the DT gals created for the challenge so check them out here. We'd love you to play along & add your own creation too.

Thanks for visiting & I hope you'll come back soon. Remember to comment & pin if you like my project.
Inky wishes, Di
