It's Just Add Ink inspiration challenge week & Rachael has given us this lovely, vibrant image to work with.
This is what I made:
I was drawn to the intricate aqua background so I tried to recreate the look of the panels with coastal cabana card.
I started by cutting six rectangles with the Rectangle Stitched die set & adhered them to copy paper. Then I embossed it with Country Floral dynamic embossing folder (a new exclusive Sale-a-bration freebie option with a $90 purchase). Finally I sponged the pieced background with white craft ink.
Then I used the bright colours in the image to create a birthday cake using the Piece of Cake stamp & punch bundle & coloured with Stampin Blends markers.
More stitched layers in melon mambo & daffodil delight finished off the panel. Can't-stop-using-those-stitched-rectangles. 😁

I kept it simple inside with some more images from the bundle.
The Piece of Cake bundle is such a bargain & useful for so many occasions & people, as it has lots of different cake & sentiment choices & is only $54.75 bundled with the coordinating punch (a 10% discount off the individual prices). Order now from my store.
So that's my take on the inspiration challenge pic. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my card. Head over to the Just Add Ink blog to see how all the team were inspired by the image too.

OMG, I love everything about this crd! The stitched background is spectacular and I love the layering under the main panel. Perfection!
ReplyDeleteThe stitched rectangles are a bit addictive aren't they? :-) This is a fabulous use of them! Your background details are lovely and I love the almost geometric feel you've created with the coloured layers around the white panel. So pretty. xx
