Dainty Delight faux centre step card - class project 1

Handmade faux centre step card using Stampin Up Dainty Delight stamp and die sets and Countryside Inn patterned paper. Card by Diane Barnes - colourmehappy - Independent Demonstrator in Sydney Australia - cardmaking - stampinupcards - stamping
Hello and welcome! Today I'm happy to share the first of two cards we made at my September card class. This was my first in person class in a long time and I was lovely to be able to craft with other cardmakers again.

The card fold is a faux centre step card (like this cute Christmas version I made with polar bears) that's all about the pretty floral stems from the Dainty Delight stamp set and pretty, blue paper prints from the Countryside Inn paper pack. Here's how it turned out.

The main panel features two Dainty Delight flower stem images stamped in Night of Navy ink. I chose to colour them with Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends markers, to create a monochromatic look that worked with the patterned paper.

I mounted them onto Night of Navy and Boho Blue, together with a hexagon banner from the Nested Essentials die set - stamped with the celebrate you image also from the Dainty Delight stamp set. Easy coordination.

I chose a nature themed paper print with sweet little foxes, and a simple striped print,
(both from the Countryside Inn pack) to decorate the base.

You can see the fold and raised panel better in this picture. The base has just 3 scorelines. The base focal panel is just a folded piece of card, which can be placed anywhere along the base depending on your focal image.

Take a look at all the beautiful blue print designs in the Countryside Inn paper pack. I love that there's a mix of bold and subtle designs, making it really easy to combine them.
You'll find this pack and a full list of all the supplies I used on my card here on my SU website and store.

Here's a final look. I could see design in many colour combinations and themes. It definitely won't be the last faux centre step you'll see. Thanks again to Simone Bartrum for sharing this fold at the Ballarat stampin' event. It's a keeper

Thanks for visiting today and  I hope you enjoyed seeing my card, and that it gave you some ideas to try.
If you did like it, would like to know more about it, or faux centre step cards in general, leave me a comment. I'd love to hear from you.

Until next time, happy stamping.
Di
