Hello and welcome to a new card share, this time for Just Add Ink challenge 664, a colour challenge suggested by me, featuring Fresh Freesia, Pool Party, and Lost Lagoon. I chose to create a sweet leafy, birdie card using two new stamp sets that work so beautifully together - Bird's Eye View and Layering Leaves. Here's how it turned out.
I started by creating a random stamped background in Lost Lagoon ink using one of the leaf sprig stamps from Layering Leaves, colouring the leaves with Stampin' Blends (Light Lost Lagoon, Dark and Light Pool Party). I lightly blended some Pool Party ink around the edge using a Blending Brush.
The card is a little taller than a regular card (about 18cm tall or just over 7 inches) to show off more the leafy panel than a regular card would allow.
I stamped two birdies (from Bird's Eye View), two different leaf images (Layering Leaves) in Basic Gray ink (softer than black) and coloured them with Stampin' Blends markers in Fresh Freesia, Lost Lagoon and Pool Party. I did think my usual 'but owls aren't purple and green' but decided it's just fun!
I also stamped the 'for you' sentiment from Layering Leaves in Lost Lagoon. This set has such a fab set of sentiments for all sorts of occasions in beautiful fonts so do check it out below and in my store.
The owls and sentiment are fussy cut with but happily the leaves are punched out using the Bough punch. So much easier.
Everything is mounted onto a banner from the Essential Labels die set, some vellum. Then the whole piece is mounted on top of three long hexagon die shapes (also Essential Labels dies - a must have in my book as the stitched looks add so much easy details and there are so many useful options and the shapes to add interest. Check out the pic below and here on the card supply list.
Inside there's a simple Pool Party panel over the Lost Lagoon base, and I couldn't resist another birdie and leaf.
So what do you think about the colour combination, and what I did with it? I really like the colours and I think when you see how all the team used it in their challenge projects - head to the Just Add Ink blog - you'll love it too.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my pretty, purple birdies today and that they inspire you to create some of your own, or a leafy background. Whatever you do, I hope you have fun with it.

Until next time, happy stamping.
