In review - Gorgeous Grunge butterflies

So, grunge & butterflies aren't words that you'd think of together, but after I saw a card made by SU's Pam Morgan at US convention convention last year & had a play myself, I can now say they do. I thought I'd shared these already, but apparently not...until now. See what you think...
Happy Day Butterfly
The butterfly is white card stamped with a combination of stamps from Gorgeous Grunge &  Hello Lovely in pool party, crisp cantaloupe & calypso coral. The cantaloupe panel has also been grunged & I added some Epic Day washi tape. Here's a closer look at the butterfly.
Butterfly Thanks
The large butterfly on this card is basically the same as the first, but looks much girlier thanks to the colours & embossed background. It's 10 x 21cm (4 x 8 inches). I used some washi to created a ruffled/pleated effect. So easy to do! Here's a closer look:
Casing Pam's Butterfly
Before I go, here's the card I made based on Pam's orginal. Very quick & easy too. I really liked how repeat stamping the lined stamp created a great background with no extra layers.
Thanks for visiting & I hope these cards give you some grungy ideas to try.
Inky wishes, Di

In review - Regarding Dahlias for birthdays

It's time for another In Review post - sharing cards I've made with the oh-so-beautiful Regarding Dahlia's stamp set.

Joy Fold Dahlia
I made this one for a dear friend's birthday back in November. She loves a fancy fold card as much as I do, so I made this joy fold card.
The dahlia was heat embossed in white onto midnight muse card. I also stamped dahlias on the inside message panel & inside base too. The birthday sentiment (Express Yourself) is heat embossed in clear embossing powder over midnight muse ink, so it's glossy too. The card base is bermuda bay, base mat is coastal cabana & the paper is Afternoon Picnic. Although this may seem an unusual colour combo, I think they work really well together. Here's the card partially open, so you can see the folds...
...and here it's fully open. You can see on the inside that I matched up the flower on the base & message panel.

Special Birthday Dahlias
I made this card for my wonderful Mum-in-law's 70th birthday in December. While it shares the colours & paper of the joy fold card, it's a much larger card - the base is a whole A4 sheet folded in half.

The dahlias & '70' are heat embossed in white. The other elements are simply layered on the front.
I added another embossed dahlia on the inside & combined a sentiment from 'Million & One' & Express Yourself. I needed a custom envelope - easy peasy with some midnight muse DSP & my Envelope Punch Board.

Hello, Lovely Dahlia
One more dahlia before I go - a simple card I made for a friend using the 'Hello, Lovely' stamp set for the sentiment in pistachio pudding, calypso coral, bermuda bay & coastal cabana - how Caribbean they all sound together.
I hope you've enjoyed this little ook at Regarding Dahlia. There are so many techniques you can do with it, so I need to try some more...but I'll say bye for now. Thanks for visiting & come back soon.
Inky wishes, Di

Another Great Year - quick & easy birthday cards

Yay! I'm back after an unintended break to share quite a few super quick & easy birthday cards from my Occasions Catalogue launch classes. Even better, I get to share some of my lovely class gals creations from the class too. All the cards use the fab must-have birthday set 'Another Great Year' teamed with paper from the Fresh Prints DSP stack.
The Fresh Prints papers are a tad larger than a card front & include 24 different  designs, so I thought it would be fun for each class gal to chose which print they wanted to use... which I think they loved. There are lots of different styles in the pack & I loved how they changed the whole look of the card in the blink of an eye. Anyway, enough chat, here's my first card, which was my class sample.
The sentiment was stamped in real red, then clear embossed to give a lovely shiny look. It's a little hard to see with my angled pic, but 'Birthday' is straight on the card & the flag piece is directly behind it. I also used some candy dot brads for a bit of extra detail.
Then, at the first class, I chose a triangle print. I think this would be a good masculine teen card.
For the second class, I chose a spotty paper, then prettied it up later with some Petite Petals flowers & ruffled ribbon. Check the first class gals cards below for a flower-less version by Alison.
Now for even more fun, here are all the cards my lovely Friday class gals made. I love how different they look with the different prints & with the addition of a star or tiny flower. (click on the pics for a bigger view). Apologies for the not-so-great pics - I took these quickly on my phone before the gals went home!
And here are my Saturday gals' cards.
I really loved how great everyone's cards turned out & I think they were all really happy too. You could make a ton of these so quickly & they all have their own look.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back soon. I hope you all have a blessed Easter.
Inky wishes, Di

PS: the star punch I used here (from the Merry Minis punch pack) is 25% off this week with our Weekly Deals. See it here.
