JAI 320 sketch challenge - Thoughtful Branches sneak peek

It's sketch challenge time at Just Add Ink & Tina has created this great sketch for us.

Even better, I just received a brand new limited edition stamp & die bundle called Thoughtful Branches which was per-fect for it. Win! Here's what I made:

I stretched the sketch to make a long card (21x10.5cm - about 8x4 inches) as I wanted to show as much of the beautiful ombre waved paper (By the Shore dsp) to create a sunset behind my tree. The soft, dotty paper is also from By the Shore. I popped it & the tree on foam adhesive strips to bring them more into the foreground. Here's a closer look:

The words & sweet die cut are from the Sweet Cupcake bundle - a fave I used here on this card too. The star of the card is the glittery tree. The tree pieces are cut with dies from the new Thoughtful Branches bundle - kraft card for the trunk & vellum for the leaves. I coloured the vellum back with a garden green & wild wasabi marker, then attached the pieces together & finished off with a good clear wink of stella & some rhinestones for a pretty glittery finish. The sweet little birdies are from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set in the bundle.

I kept it simple on the inside, some more spotty paper, my favourite birthday sentiment at the moment - a single stamp called Stylised Birthday - & another birdie

So, can you see the sketch in my card? Do you love the tree too? Here's one more pic to remind you.

Now head to the Just Add Ink blog to see the fun & cool ways the team used the sketch too. We'd love you to play along too.

Ahh I was wondering what you made the back layer of the tree from Di. I really like the idea of the coloured vellum and you know already I think this card is a stunner! xxx

I love the way you made the card tall and thin - it's so effective!

Yes thank you Di - I was trying to resist this bundle but after seeing your card I can't resist it anymore :-) I do love the tall and skinny sunset effect you'vecreated and the tree branches in the foreground over your coloured vellum is truly inspired! So clever! xx

Love this card Di. The ombre DSP background looks like a beautiful sun set and I love that you put the branches in front of the leaves for a different look. I too am trying to resist this set but seeing fabulous creations like this are tipping me over the edge. Ha! Rochelle xo

Wow - so many beautiful details on this gorgeous card, Di! The background you've created is stunning, and I love the glimmery canopy of the tree. A very special card, my friend.

I love that you went with a tall card to show off that gorgeous dsp. Terrific card, and love the bling to finish. x
