We have a colour challenge with a twist this week at Just Add Ink - use three of five possible colours on a project. As you see, all of the colours are bold & bright. What to do, what to do.
I chose to use bermuda bay, daffodil delight and lovely lipstick, with lots of white and my new Dressed to Impress stamp and die bundle, to create this fun, perfume themed birthday card for a dear friend.
I started by creating a stamped perfume bottle background from Dressed to Impress on white card with daffodil delight ink. Being photopolymer stamps they're easy to line up by eye. You may not notice but I softened the images a little by going over the images with my water filled aquapainter to bleed a little colour into the bottle - being careful to avoid the 'parfum' words.
Then I embossed the panel with the Subtle 3d/dynamic embossing folder.
Just when you think this folder couldn't get any more amazing, a decision to make the embossing pattern run vertically after embossing it horizontally resulted in this lovely linen look texture. Win!
You can hopefully see this fab texture in this close up (click for a bigger pic too).
The Stitched Rectangle frame and sentiment piece adds interest too. Oh how I love those.
Two of the scattered heart die cuts (from the Stitched Be Mine die set) behind the bermuda bay perfume bottle image and lovely lipstick sentiment. Stamped images are popped up on dimensionals.
I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the bermuda bay perfume bottle too, being careful not to avoid the inked lines so the image didn't bleed.
Some of my fave Woven Thread sequins finish off the look. Honestly there seems to be no project that I can't use these on.
Inside are two sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set (discount Peaceful Moments bundle also available with the gorgeous Poppy Moments dies included - shown below at end of supply list). Another stitched rectangle and perfume image carries over the theme.
So that's my take on the colour challenge. The JAI Design Team have chosen lots of different combinations for their projects so check them all out on the Just Add Ink blog. Remember to pin my card for later inspiration before you go.
If you'd like to create your own perfume card, all the supplies you'll need are listed below for you to order.
Top Tip: Add a little extra something when you order the Dressed to Impress bundle (or any $90 purchase before shipping) and you'll earn a free Sale-a-bration item too. See all the Sale-a-bration info you need, here on my blog.
Pop back soon for more ideas to try.
Happy stamping & inky wishes,
Di

What a great use of this stamp set for the background. Fabulous idea. This set is just the cutest thing. Works for any age birthday card.
