Hello and welcome to another team project share for Just Add Ink. This week is a sketch challenge suggested by Kim. I chose to rotate the sketch to create a landscape card.
I created a cute kitty scene using the new Love Cats stamp set, Alphabet a la Mode dies and and an old favourite - the Biggest Wish stamp set. Here's how it turned out.
I created a cute kitty scene using the new Love Cats stamp set, Alphabet a la Mode dies and and an old favourite - the Biggest Wish stamp set. Here's how it turned out.
The kitties had to be ginger-strawberry blonde like our own pretty kitty, Meggs. I started by stamping in Petal Pink ink with a touch of Calypso Coral ink added with a blending brush. I added more shading using Stampin' Blends markers in Petal Pink and Light Calypso Coral, then drew over the nose, eyes and whiskers in Basic Gray. Then it was fussy cutting time.
I created a box for kitty 1 to lie in using Stylish Shapes square dies - every kitty loves being in a box, right? - adding some shading with Stampin' Blends markers. Kitty 2 is happily perched on top.
The background is simple but fun. I inked some Country Gingham paper with a Blending Brush and Calypso Coral ink pad. Some Balmy Blue paper from the Subtles collection pack.
Then I added a double layer of Alphabet a la Mode letters to spell out kitty. These dies are so handy as there are multiple dies for popular letters like T in kitty.
Stamped and fussy cut sentiments from my favourite Biggest Wish stamp set finish off the look.
