Hello and welcome!
Today I have something fun and interactive to share with you that I designed and made for Miss C's birthday.
She's heading off on a adventure soon so I thought it would be fun to create a card that looked like a pull along suitcase, complete with moving handle. Of course I had to personalise it for her with a monogram and tag too.
This is how it turned out.
The colours I used are Misty Moonlight for the main structure (happily back in our range this year) and Balmy Blue and white for the front and back decoration.
The front, back, and sides of the base section of the card are made with
a single piece of card that's scored to give the 3d look, but folds
flat for posting.

Details
- Embossed front and back panel - floral folder from the Basics embossing folders set of three.
- Gingham paper pocket and banners - Stylish Shapes square and banner dies. The banner under the monogram is embossed with the crosshatch embossing folder from the Basics set too.
- Monogram letters and 22 - the Alphabet a la mode alphabet letters and numbers were perfect for the monogram. I cut 3 layers of each to give then strength and dimension.
- Every suitcase needs a ribbon to help you spot your own. I used my fave glittered organdy ribbon.
Suitcases need a sliding handle so this suitcase has one too. The sliding tab is attached to the back panel and covered with an embossed panel. See pic of back below.
The top has another scored panel attached to replicate the sides and the bottom has 2 feet. Wheels were too much to think about.
The front decoration carries over simply to the back. I've used a sentiment from the sadly retired Happiness Abounds stamp set, but you can substitute anything you'd like.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my suitcase card today. It was such a fun card to design and make, and came together pretty quickly - always a good sign since I haven't created any new fancy folds for a while. I think Miss really liked it too. It would be fun designing different colours and designs to suit the recipient.
Leave a comment if you liked my project too, and if you'd like me to make a tutorial. If enough people ask then I'll consider adding it to my to do list.
In the meantime you can shop for all the supplies I used here in my Stampin' Up! online store.
Thanks again for visiting today.
Happy stamping and creating
