Hello and welcome to a new project share - my design team project for Just Add Ink challenge 676, which is a photo inspiration challenge.
With Halloween and Thanksgiving in North America around the corner, the pumpkin in the challenge image is a popular theme. I'm not that fond of pumpkins (except for in pumpkin scones) or orange in general so what to make?
A sweet little birdie from the Bird's Eye View stamp set with pumpkin like dimensions and colours was the fun answer for me. The neutral colours and patterns in the image gave me the rest of my palette. Here's how my card turned out.
Tweet? I'm getting used to using unexpected colours and it was fun creating my little birdie. I stamped the images in Basic Grey Ink, then coloured with Stampin' Blends markers in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze (2 colours I rarely use but like here), Old Olive, and Granny Apple Green.
The stack of books is a nod to the intricate flat tray (?) under the pumpkin, coloured with combinations of Ivory, and Light & Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.
A Deckled rectangle and the checks and greys reflected the colours, patterns and softness of the image - Gray Granite - a warm grey I often forget about. The paper is a retired neutral stack (bring back the gingham I say!) which I embossed with the retired Subtle folder. Oh how I wish for some new simple folders like this one.
Inside are many elements from the front plus another sweet birdie friend.
So what do you think? Did I meet the challenge brief. I hope my card has given you some ideas to try. You'll find all our team projects here on the Just Add Ink blog.
You'll find and can shop for all the supplies you need to make your own version here in my online store.
Thanks for visiting today, and until next time, happy stamping.
