Hello and welcome to another project share from me. This week's Just Add Ink challenge is a sketch and I do love a good sketch. This worked well for a special milestone birthday card for a very special woman.
She loves her garden so of course I wanted to make something pretty and floral. I remembered I had some gorgeous (though retired) Dainty Flowers patterned paper that would be perfect for it so I used it for the whole card, fun fold and all. Take a look.
I rotated the sketch a bit to make
the strip vertical rather than horizontal, which made it work
wonderfully for this square column fun fold card design (which I saw the fab Rachael Tessman share).
I used a gorgeous 6 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper for the card base. I folded the card differently to Rachael's as I wanted to see the beautiful purple flowers on the left. It was so hard to cover up any of it actually.
However, a birthday message and magic number was required. I created a panel with more patterned paper (cut with one of the Deckled Rectangle dies), fussy cut the oval paper design piece, and backed it with 2 wreaths from the brilliant Wishes All Round dies and bundle (sadly on the Last Chance List currently) to add some extra greenery.
The Alphabet A La Mode dies and Fresh Freesia card provides
the magic 80 number (4 layers of card), I coloured them with Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends to add some extra colour. I stamped a sentiment from Go To Greetings onto a scrap of the paper using Basic Gray ink.
How lovely is that oval floral panel? - Especially covered in Wink of Stella.

Here's how the back looks. See why I wanted to show all the beautiful paper.
So that's my sketch challenge card. I hope you liked my idea and that it inspires you to try a square column card fold or just play with some pretty paper. Head to the Just Add Ink blog when you're finished here to see all our team projects using the sketch. You're sure to find ideas you'll love.
Take a final look at my card before you go. You'll find all the current supplies you'll need to make your own version here on my Stampin' Up! website.
Thanks for visiting today, and until next time, happy stamping.
