Hello & welcome to a fun Just Add Ink Challenges Design Team share. This week's challenge is to add stencilling. I chose to use the beautiful floral image in the Enduring Beauty range of stamps, dies and stencils with a sentiment from Layering Leaves. Here's how it turned out.

Details:
  • Flowers: I started by stamping the large Enduring Beauty floral image in Basic Gray ink. Then I used the coordinating 5 stencils to softly colour the image with ink and blending brushes.
The ink is actually Poppy Parade, but because the colour layers are so soft, they look a lot like Flirty Flamingo. The leaves are stencilled in Lemon Lime Twist. I cut the image out with the coordinating die, then cut it into two pieces so I could layer them for a different look.

  • Floral Stencil layer: I coloured the floral stencil from the retired Flowers and Foliage stencil pack with Pool Party ink and a blending brush.

  • Patterned Paper layer: Flirty Flamingo striped print and dotty Lemon Lime Twist prints from the Brights Collection paper pack.

  • Sentiment: The thank you is from the Layering Leaves stamp set - still a favourite for most not birthday occasions. The beautiful stitched die cut is from the Enduring Beauty die set, as are the white die cut leaves nestling underneath the main image.

  • Ribbon & bling: Some iridescent ribbon and iridescent rhinestones add shimmery shine.

  • Embossing: The retired Subtle embossing folder came out for another run. I'm never giving this one up.

  • And a boo boo at the end: don't try this at home: I decided to add a little Wink of Stella when the card was finished. However, it immediately changed the beautiful blended ink colouring where it touched, and I couldn't fix it. I couldn't redo the flower so you see it here as is. So the lesson is be careful with Wink with layered colour ink blends.
