Hello & welcome to a new week's Just Add Ink Challenges Design Team share. This week is a Choose Two challenge to include two of these three elements, elves, reindeer, or Santa on a project. I love reindeers for Christmas and have so many choices, but not a Santa or elf in sight.
I went back to the long retired Santa’s Sleigh stamps and dies so that while Santa is away delivering gifts, his sleigh and reindeer are here on the card. I added my favourite sentiments from Peaceful Season and pretty papers and the card was done. Here’s how it turned out.
You might remember some of these elements from this card but funnily I didn’t intentionally repeat them. I’d put everything away then brought it back out this week, but my mind was maybe subconsciously still thinking of them.
Details
- Santa’s Sleigh is Real Red card and red glimmer paper.
- The reindeer is Copper Foil stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder. I had an idea to replicate the curly pattern from the sleigh so I just used a stylus and silicone mat to add swirls.
- Natures Sweetness paper adds a subtle background with hints of foiled shine.
- Striped paper is from A Little Bit Festive. You'll see lots more of this in my next post.
- 'Christmas' die cut and stamped sentiments are from the Peaceful Season dies and stamps.
- Red and white peppermints add some fun and whimsy.
- Inside I've included some more paper and foil, another Peaceful Season sentiment and reindeer stamped with Crumb Cake ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends.
It was fun mixing and matching old and new elements together.
