Retirement party cards

This could be the quickest post in history - for me anyway. No more time to faff about , as the catalogue finishes TOMORROW...or TODAY if I don't get this post finished soon & I still have some projects to show you. Anyway, here are the 2 cards we made at my retirement party on the 14th. This was a last chance to use some of the many lovely goodies that are going.

Eat Cake Pop-Up
Here's the first card we made. This is a free-standing pop-up card. It folds flat for posting, but it stands on its own when open. We used some of my (sob) beloved (sob) in-colours – in this case, blue bayou, soft sky & groovy guava (with a little ruby red thrown in) & the fabulous 'Eat Cake' set. I have to say that this set will NOT be leaving my collection when it retires, as it's such a great birthday set. If you'd like to make your own free standing pop-up, you can find a fantastic tutorial here at Splitcoast.

Bye Bye BudThis is the second one we made. As the pop-up takes a little time to make, the 2nd card was really simple but I really like the layout - it's so flexible - & I like how the whole rectangle is popped off the card base (which you may not see clearly in the pic). The stamp images are from the retiring sets, 'Bud Basics' & It's Your Birthday' & the colours are bashful blue, brocade blue & so saffron. The ribbon is light blue gingham (retiring) & I snuck in a 'fire' rhinestone brad (not retiring – yay!) to finish off the popped flower.

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed seeing the projects I've shown this month. I will be back eventually with my Bali Breeze set as a last hurrah...hopefully tomorrow if I get my chores done (eek!).

If you'd like any more info on these projects or anything else, just drop me an e-mail or leave a comment. Thanks for visiting. I'm off to bed now, as it's now the last day. Bye for now.

Warm & inky wishes
Di

Hi Ho Di!

I am just lovin' this card - it's just lovely! I had the bud basics set, but found I couldn't make anything nice with it no matter how hard I tried!
