JAI 442 sketch challenge - Tea Together

So it's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge and this week it's a sketch challenge. Yay!

I was intrigued by the swirly elements. They made me think of the large stitched pattern die in the Needlepoint Elements die set (also in the Needle & Thread stamp & die bundle), so I teamed this with the pretty teapot stamp from the Tea Together stamp set as my central element represented by a circle in the sketch. This is how it turned out.

I started with some blushing bride card, embossing it with Subtle embossing folder. I have used the SO much. It just adds so much texture with no effort. Click on the pics for a better look at this.

Then I put the stitched pattern die through the Big Shot to create the two swirly elements. The die is quite large so the pattern overlapped in the centre of the card, but the overlap is hidden by the teapot. I mounted this on a white layer & soft sea foam base. Such a pretty combination.

I stamped the teapot in basic gray and a sentiment from the Needle & Thread stamp set. Then cut the teapot out with the coordinating Tea Time die set - a brilliant Sale-a-bration choice - free with a $180 purchase.  I have been having lots of fun playing with these so keep an eye out for more projects.

I also cut out the friend sentiment from the Well Written die set (& Well Said stamp & die bundle) in rose glimmer paper. So pretty!

Behind the teapot I layered a pretty vellum banner and leaves - both also from the Needlepoint Elements die set, then placed the leftover leaf centres on the top of the stitched leaf shape.

Inside, I used the stitched pattern die again & another sentiment from the Needle & Thread bundle. It really has a lot of useful sentiments in lovely fonts too. Here's what the whole bundle looks like.

So that's my take on the challenge sketch. I hope you've enjoyed my project & that it gives your some ideas to try. Check out the Just Add Ink blog to see all the Design Team's challenge projects. Then try the challenge yourself.

Wow, this is so pretty, Di! I love your background, especially how you've used the leaf inside bits to add to the stitched design. Gorgeous!

So pretty Di! I love the product combination and that you've left the teapot white...so effective! xx

I love the subtle details Di. The stitched needlepoint with the little leaves add such a beautiful effect. x
