JAI 497 sketch challenge - poppy birthday

It's sketch challenge week at Just Add Ink - gotta love a good sketch - and Kim has given us a fun geometric design to play with.

I'm still poppy crazy after playing with the Peaceful Poppies suite for my classes last week - Love it! Then I remembered there are poppy stamps in the Bloom and Grow stamp set/discounted bundle too so I paired them with the Painted Poppies bundle on my card.

I started with a thick white base and striped print from the Sale-a-bration Golden Honey paper pack (FREE with a $90 purchase until 31 March only - while supplies last).

3 nested squares from our original & still awesome Stitched Shapes dies created the square sketch elements (even though I realise one should be a rectangle - oops!)

Next are pops of poppy colour - large image from Painted Poppies and poppy spray from Bloom and Grow - coloured with Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green, and Smoky Slate Stampin Blends markers.

The heat embossed 'happy' sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set and 'birthday' die from Well Written dies. I cut & adhered 2 birthdays together to make it thicker. Well Written has lots of other occasion options too that would work on this card too.

The stitched squares and poppies are all popped up from the striped base with dimensionals.

Inside is a simple nod to the front, with sentiment from Bloom and Grow and more poppies coloured with Stampin Blends.

So that's my take on the sketch challenge. Hope it inspired you in some way. Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our Design Team projects and then try the sketch yourself. We love to see what you come up with.

Take a look at the other prints in the Sale-a-bration Golden Honey paper pack, which includes black, white and gold prints and get yours now free with a $90 before it goes with Sale-a-bration. There are tons more free Sale-a-bration choices too so check them all out here in my store.

Happy stamping & inky wishes,
Di

Very pretty. Love the poppies on the b/w stripe paper and your coloring looks great. TFS

Beautiful inside and out Di - I'm poppy mad too at the moment! The colour accents look great against the black and white. Chantell x x
