Hello & welcome! Today's share is my design team project for this week's sketch challenge JAI 578 at Just Add Ink and I'm still really enjoying Christmas creating with the Words of Cheer stamp and die bundle.
This card has a traditional red, green & white colour scheme but I think the Just Jade (which I love) gives a fresh and modern look with lots of texture and interest. Here's the finished card.
The base layers set the scene. The white layer is embossed with the new Timber 3d embossing folder. This is a great all round folder that provides lovely texture that doesn't overpower the card. The red and white striped paper layer of the sketch is from the Heartwarming Hugs paper pack, cut out with a Stitched Rectangle die (cut down to size).
Poinsettia - I stamped and coloured a single poinsettia image from Words of Cheercoloured
it with Stampin' Blends markers, then cut . (Dark Shaded Spruce, Dark
& Light Just Jade, Dark Mint Macaron, Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark
& Light Real Red, and Dark & Light Pool Party.I cut the poinsettia piece apart to allow me to change and extend the shape across the card. The gap is layered behind two Tailored Tag punched shapes layered together.
Sentiments - The 'happy' die cut sentiment layers (Just Jade and vellum) are layered over the top. The scripty 'Christmas' is part of the larger ' Sending you Christmas cheer' sentiment in Words of Cheer. I masked off the remaining words with post it notes so I could use it separately. I used the retired Classic Label punch to cut it out but the current & fabulously useful Banners Pick a Punch would work very well too.
Bling - is courtesy of Wink of Stella over the poinsettia and 'happy' die cut. The red and clear Wonderful Gems have gold glitter inside. Hopefully you can see better if you click on the close-up pic.
I hope you like my take on the Just Add Ink sketch challenge. Let me know if you do or if you have any questions. Remember to pin for later inspiration too and do check out the JAI blog to see all our Design Team projects and play along with the challenge.
Are you enjoying seeing Words of Cheer, as much as I am creating with it? It's really a must have for Christmas and I love that some elements can be used year round too. You'll find it and all the other supplies I used in my online store. It's almost November (eeep) so time to really get your cards made and ready to send in December.
Happy stamping & inky wishes

Beautiful card. Love the colors you used and how you split the poinsettia image under the other die cuts. TFS
