Hello and welcome to a new Just Add Ink challenge share. This week Kerry challenged us to add a die cut inlay to our project. Thankfully my card came together pretty quickly as it's been a bit of a huge week. I went very clean and simple, creating this card using the one of the beautiful Meadow dies, Stampin Blends markers and sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set. Here's the finished card.
As the challenge required, this card is all about the beautiful coloured, inlaid die cuts - the ferny stem shapes from the Meadow dies - and some simple cardstock layering.
First I cut the shapes from a white card panel, removed the shapes carefully then coloured them in with Stampin Blends markers to create a shaded-sun dappled look. The colours I used are Granny Apple Green Light & Dark, and Lemon Lime Twist Light & Dark.

After colouring, I popped the die cuts back into the panel (there's the inlaid die challenge element), and layered it onto a combination of Lemon Lime Twist, white, and Basic Gray. I know the pic is not showing the lime part but I just couldn't get the light-camera-editing to make show it properly. Trust me that it definitely looks look much more green.
I do love how placing the shapes back in the card creates a seamless look. Oh I forgot to mention that I used my trust retired Subtle embossing folder on the panel. Nothing will make me stop using that folder.
The stamped sentiment is from Go To Greetings - a very useful sentiment only set with three different font typefaces. Here they are with the Meadow dies too. I cut it out with one of the banner dies from my go-to die set, Stylish Shapes. Another must have.

So that's my clean and simple die cut inlay card. I hope you liked how I used the challenge. Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our team projects for even more ideas.
I'm definitely trying this technique with some other dies. I hope you will too. Shop for the supplies you need in my store too.
Until next time, happy stamping.
