JAI 668 choose two challenge - zoo crew lion birthday card

Hello and welcome to a new Just Add Ink team share for this week's challenge suggested by Lou, who asked us to include two of three challenge element options on our project. I created a fun, whimsical birthday card with the using one of the very cute animal illustrations on the Zoo Crew paper. Here's how it turned out.

I started by fussy cutting the and tree images from the Zoo Crew paper pack. It includes so many different animals doing fun, human activities The paper is partially coloured - the lion is mostly black and white - so I chose to colour it fully with Stampin Blends (Pecan Pie and Ivory).

I then arranged the pieces onto a stitched circle (Stylish Shapes dies) lightly blended with Tahitian Tide ink to create a scene.

The circle piece is mounted onto some Crumb Cake card embossed with the retired Timber 3d embossing folder (challenge element 1... although I think the trees count too), and stitched banners (also from Stylish Shapes).

The sentiments are from the Wanted to Say die set (Happy - which is stacked and adhered together with Adhesive Sheets) and my well used Sending Smiles stamp set. The sentiment is the only stamping on this card! The Linen Thread (coloured with Black Stampin Blends marker) is my second challenge element.

The black and white print paper is also from the Zoo Crew pack. Each of the papers has a black and white print on one side and animals on the other side. You'll in find this paper in the 23-24 Annual Catalogue and in my online store. There's also a coordinating stamp and die set called Zany Zoo, which includes some of the images in the paper.
