Hello and welcome! Today I have a new share for the Just Add Ink design team. Nikki gave us a super flexible sketch to work with and I immediately thought Christmas cards!... and not just because it's almost October and time is a ticking. The sketch looked perfect for the beautifully elegant Shining Brightly specialty paper pack, as there are two colourways of the same design, all foiled in gold. I chose the leafy design and teamed it with the Layering Leaves stamp set to create some elegant Christmas cards, Here's the first of four cards I made.
I started by cutting two pieces of the same prints - the sheets match exactly - then cut a narrow strip off each. This gave me two paper colourways for two cards. And two cards are always better than one. Especially at Christmas. I reversed the card base and mat colours for each - Night of Navy and Very Vanilla.
I stamped multiples of the Layering Leaves stamp images in Night of Navy ink, partially coloured them with Boho Blue Stampin' Blends markers, then punched out with the coordinating Bough Punch. There are three boughs for this design, plus a little gold twine to reflect the bow on the sketch.
Thanks to US demo, Rachel Tessman for sharing her own mistletoe card with Layering Leaves stamp set. Rachel actually designed the Layering Leaves stamp set with Stampin' Up! and it's one of my favourites this year.

The lovely scripty sentiment is from the new Wishes All Round stamp set and stamp-die bundle. Inside, I used a coordinating sentiment from the set, and another leaf.
Version 2
I you're a fan of more traditional red and green cards, take a look at these versions using some retired Lights Aglow paper and Very Vanilla cardstock.
I ran the papers through the retired Subtle embossing folder to add some more texture. I stamped the leaves in Shaded Spruce ink and coloured them with Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends. Lost Lagoon would work well too. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
So that's my four card designs for the sketch. You could make these design with any two coordinating papers, and change the occasion too. Leaves are useful all year round.
So which ones do you like more? The navy-gold-vanilla options or traditional red and green. Leave a comment to let me know. I'd love to see what you're inspired to create with them too.
Head to the Just Add Ink blog when you're finished here, to see how the team used the sketch for their own designs too.
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed seeing my cards and that they give you ideas to try.
Until next time, happy stamping.
