Hello and welcome. It's colour challenge week at Just Add Ink, and we're using a bold combination of Gorgeous Grape and Tahitian Tide with white. I love both separately but can't say I've combined them until now. I've used them with the Hot Air Balloon stamps and dies bundle to create a bright birthday card. Here's how it turned out. Tell me what you think.
First things first, I wanted to create some colour variation with the two challenge colours, so my blending brushes were just the thing to use.
So that's my colour challenge card. What do you think - did I make the colours work? This design could be replicated in so many colour combinations for many occasions and people.

- I created a cloudy background using the cloud border die from the Basic Borders die set, Tahitian Tide ink and a blending brush. The back of the piece is actually on the card. Waste not want not.
- The large, white balloon is die cut and coloured with Gorgeous Grape ink, with some other Gorgeous Grape pieces on top, plus the sentiment. I like that it fits the shape but is not curved so can be used on it's own too.
- The heart balloon is Gorgeous Grape and white too. The basket is 2 pieces - one is a little basket with the posts, and the top one is cut down from the basket piece I used on the large balloon.
There's a thin border of Tahitian Tide card behind the main panel - I'm on my last sheet so time to re-order, and I used a piece of checked paper (retired) behind to add some subtle detail.
