Hello and welcome! Today I'm sharing my project for this week's Just Add Ink sketch challenge.
The three repeated elements made me think of shapes in my new Seaside Wishes stamp, die and hybrid embossing folder bundle. I used a mostly neutral colour combination of Basic Beige, and white with a touch of Petal Pink and Calypso Coral to make this soft, pretty card.
Seaside Wishes is the first bundle I have that includes a Hybrid embossing folder and dies and I am impressed with how you can emboss and cut three Sand Dollars at the same time in one pass with the machine. The folder and dies can of course also be used separately too. The stamps in the set are from our Distinktive range, which give a photo realistic, shaded image with just one stamp. I used Calypso Coral ink stamped off to create a softer look. See the pic below for a closer look at the components of the bundle. But back to the card.
The base white layer is embossed with the folder. Then I stamped and cut out some beautiful large and small starfish shapes, and cut some more die cuts, and began by layering the three elements over a line of iridescent ribbon to form the main sketch elements. I added other elements on top to create some texture and interest. You can see part of the the embossed base in this pic.
I snuck in some small die cut flowers from the Country Flowers stamp and die bundle that were on my desk, as they looked like mini starfish to me. A birthday sentiment from the Country Birdhouse stamp and die bundle stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Basic Beige cardstock. Love some mixing and matching!
