JAI 736 Just add bling - Beautiful Butterflies milestone birthday

 

Hello & welcome to this week's Just Add Ink Challenges Design Team share. This week is a Just Add challenge and we have to add a touch of bling. Easy peasy! I mixed and matched some new goodies from the Jan - April Mini catalogue with other supplies to make a birthday card with a surprise inside for a dear friend's milestone birthday. Here's how it turned out.

Base - gatefold card made in landscape view using Balmy Blue card with some pretty paper from the Floral Delight pack.

Butterfly: The gorgeous butterfly is from the Beautiful Butterflies stamps, dies and hybrid embossing folder bundle. There are 3 layers - the base is white card embossed and cut out using the hybrid folder. Then I added an intricate butterfly layer using iridescent glimmer paper (this one is retired but I've suggested two current alternatives in my project supply list. The top layer is cut in white and coloured with dark and light Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends markers. The body is iridescent glimmer paper too, which I've coloured with Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends.

'50' banner. The 50 is cut from the Birthday Celebration die set, as is the stitched banner die. The gingham is also from the Floral Delight pack.

Bling: Some iridescent rhinestones coordinate with the bling of the glimmer paper.

 

A fun surprise inside - A second butterfly sits inside and flips up to show a birthday message. It's made with a clever die in the Beautiful Butterflies die set. I've added another intricate iridescent butterfly and layered birthday die (from Wanted to Say set) to decorate, and added more paper.

 

 

The sentiment inside is from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set - 'time to celebrate' plus 'you' from the 'for you' stamp. It's stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.
