Hello & welcome. It's been quite a while since my blog has seen any love - thanks for your patience if you're still here.
Today I'm happy to have a fun fold card to share with you. This came about as a friend asked me to make a special motorcycling themed milestone birthday card. Here's how it turned out.
Easel fun fold card base - The card is larger than
usual - the front is half an A4 sheet (21cm x 14.8cm). I made it into an easel
card so the bike could stand up, and I'd have more design space. The base is
Basic Gray card with a layer of Timid Tiger and Basic Black on the front.
I popped up a section of tyre to prop up the easel.
Motorcycle - I didn't have any stamps or papers
with the requested motorcycle theme so I had to think of some alternatives.
Thankfully my Canva account had some great image options. I hadn't used
it for my cards before but it worked well.
I printed a black image in the size I wanted, fussy cut it out, then added some
shading and colour with Stampin' Blends (Gray Granite, Smoky Slate, Light Basic
Black, Timid Tiger, and Peach Pie).
Sentiment - I turned a well known motorcycle logo into a custom birthday
sentiment. I printed and fussy cut the whole image then layered a second happy
birthday section on top.
Tyre Track Paper - I created a grungy custom paper design in Canva and
printed it onto a sheet of mottled patterned paper from the retired Stampin'
Up! Trusty Toolbox pack.
This is how the card looks when open and flat. The sentiment inside is a
retired SU one - a favourite of the friend who requested the card.
So that's my motorcycle birthday card. The requestor loved
it and I hear the recipient did too, so that makes me very happy. It's not a
fully SU creation but I hope it shows you can mix and match your basic supplies
with other elements to create something new and gives you some ideas to try.
