Hello and welcome. Today I'm sharing a Christmas card created for Just Add Ink challenges. This week's colour challenge combination of Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party and Starry Sky was suggested by me. I don't know what sort of project I had in mind when I suggested them but I've created this Christmas card using the very clever Merriest Moments stamp set and Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder and die set.
I've gone crazy with multiple layers for a luxe look and lots of white to balance the bold colours. Check out that fabulous embossing. Even better there's coordinating dies to cut around the embossing as well as the stamped shapes.
Base Layers
- Starry Sky card base covered in a Starry Sky paper print from the colour collection pack
- Vellum die cut layer - this is a smidge bigger than the embossed and die cut layer
- White embossed layer 1 -
- White embossed layer 2- coloured with Parakeet Party ink and a Blending Brush and adhered to peek from behind the white layer.
Stamping
- Flowers - I love the stylised poinsettia flower shapes - and look at the fab colour coordination between the stamped images and the cardstock in the layered flowers. Topped with Iridescent Pearls.
- Leaves - stamped and die cut holly and rounded leaves are placed under and around the main embossed panels for a little extra, but not too much colour.
- Sentiments - Happiest Moments has lots of elegant, useful sentiments for the front and inside.
Take a closer look at the Merriest Moments stamp set and Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder and die set. So many ways to combine all these lovely elements.
So that's my take on the colour challenge, and one more Christmas card done. What do you think?
Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our team projects. You'll find some more Christmas cards in the mix too.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you liked my card and that it gave you some ideas to try. I think I'd like to try this card in softer colours for another different look. To create your own version, check out the full supply list in my Stampin' Up! Store.
Until next time, happy stamping & inky wishes.
