Hello and welcome to my project share for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This is a colour challenge chosen by me using Starry Sky (retiring at the end of this month *sob*), Coastal Cabana, and Berry Burst. It was more challenging that I thought it would be. My card is a variation of an expanding z fold I made for last weekend's classes, but you'll have to wait a bit more to see the originals. Enough chat, here's how it turned out.
Since both sides of the patterned paper is visible with this design, it works well with a patterned paper design with two coordinating sides - one more bold and one more subtle. You'll see this when I share my class cards and if you watch Lyssa's video.
For this card, I loved the striped design but the other side didn't work for the colour challenge so I covered some the back of the visible paper with more of the striped paper, and I used some cardstock on the front.
Some design details:
You know I love an fun fold so when I found this fab expanding fancy fold card design video by Lyssa Zwolanek from Embellish with Lyssa I had to try it. It's a great way to use and show off some of that beautiful patterned paper we have in our stash.
It has a standard card on the back, folded into a z fold, then a second z fold made of patterned paper (with some extra folds). I followed Lyssa's paper scoring measurements for my class versions, but for the card I used a half A4 card base with it as I'm in Aus.

Some design details:
- Layered Happy Birthday is from the Wanted to Say dies. I love the handwritten look and the two layers give so many options to use together, separately or with other stamped images. See the whole set below. I've used Starry Sky and white card for mine here
- Stitched banner is one of four banners (and 3 shapes) in the Nested Essentials die set. These are definitely an essential in my collection.
- Flower silhouette - a beauty from the Meadow dies set, which is retiring (and now sold out in Aus).
- Subtle embossing on the paper strips.
- Iridescent rhinestones for a little bling - also retiring. Crazy I know. I love these things!
- The inside sentiment is from the Layering Leaves stamp set.
Here's how it looks mostly flat.
Viewed from the inside of the cardstock section.
And from the top.
Can you see the two z folds. The paper z fold at the front is attached to the front of the cardstock section.
Take a final look at how it turned out. I just love the Starry Sky and Coastal Cabana together.
So that's my take on the colours. I hope you'll try this expanding fold. Watch out for the other versions I made for my class. You'll find the supply list for the currently available items here in my store.
Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see how the team used the challenge colours, then play along with the challenge too.
Thanks again for visiting today. If you have any questions, just leave me a comment.
Until next time, happy stamping.

PS: Here's what's included in the Wanted to Say word dies and Nested Essentials sets. Both of these are such useful additions to my supplies. I think you'll love them too. See them here
