JAI 742 inspiration challenge - leafy get well

Handmade get well card using Stampin Up Country Flowers stamps and dies, and coloured with Stampin Blends alcolhol markers - card by Diane Barnes - colourmehappy - cardmaking - stampinupcards

Hello & welcome to this week's Just Add Ink Challenges Design Team share.
I'm away at the annual Stampin' Up! Onstage event in Brisbane so I'll have to keep this post brief. This week is a photo inspiration challenge featuring a tropical garden scene that I'd love to be able to relax in.  I chose to focus on the tropical plants, furniture, and colours in the image using the Country Flowers stamps and dies bundle. Here's how it turned out.

I didn't have any papers I thought fitted the challenge (crazy I know) so I started by stamping my own paper design using the leafy plant image from Country Flowers stamps and dies bundle, then coloured it with Stampin' Blends markers (Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Pool Party, Summer Splash, and retired Parakeet Party). I then embossed the panel with my retired Subtle embossing folder -just because.

I'm really enjoying the cut off card front look, so I cut off a third of the front and placed the paper on the reduced front and inside.

My focal point piece on the front has a cut up tea pot image, the same leafy image, and a stool to represent the furniture in the challenge image.

I popped these elements on two arch images (Blueberry Bushel and white) cut with the Everyday Arches pierced nesting dies set, a new purchase. I chose to use the fab double-layered get well sentiment from the Wanted to Say dies set (in Azure Afternoon and white). I like how it sits beside the plant image and overhangs the front.

So that's my take on the photo inspiration challenge. I encourage you to try colouring your own paper design with stamps. Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our team projects for more ideas and to try the challenge yourself.

Until next time, happy stamping.
Diane
