JAI 582 inspiration challenge - Christmas stockings

Handmade Christmas stockings card using Stampin Up Tidings and Trimmings stamp set and die bundle, Heartwarming Hugs paper and coloured with Stampin Blends alcohol markers. Card by Di Barnes - colourmehappy -Independent Demonstrator in Sydney Australia. 2021-2022 annual catalogue

Hello hello & welcome to another project share created for the Just Add Ink challenges Design Team. This week's challenge is to make a project inspired by the cosy, Christmas scene above. I still have a ton of Christmas cards to make so this was very welcome.

I decided to use the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set and die bundle from the Annual Catalogue. This has traditional Christmas images like stockings & stars with a modern twist, and a sentiment that perfectly matched the one in the challenge image. Here's my finished card.

How many elements of the challenge image can you pick that I've used aside from the sentiment? The stockings are an obvious one, the colours (I've used Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Crumb Cake, black & white), the horizontal panels on the wall, greenery and golden light. It's hard to see in the dull, rainy light but the strip above the stockings is lovely brush metallic card which has a lovely sheen.

I coloured the stockings & bows  using Stampin Blends markers - Light Cherry Cobbler, Light & Dark Real Red, Crumb Cake, & Bronze.
For the background, I embossed a panel of Crumb Cake using the Timber 3d embossing and striped paper from the Heartwarming Hugs paper pack. Funny thing - see the leafy die cuts? When the card left my desk there was one on each stocking but it must have disappeared by when I finished the card. So imagine it has a spring on the side of the stocking on the far left.

Inside I couldn't resist adding another stocking and bow to two more sentiments from the Tidings & Trimming bundle.

So that's my card. It was a fun one to make, and great to have one more Christmas card for my still-too small stash of cards.

Hmm, I wonder where that missing sprig sprang off to? Regardless, your card is fabulous - and I'm impressed that you were able to include so many details from the Inspiration photo.
